(Greensboro, NC) – Eagle Forum, a leading national, conservative advocacy group, endorses Mark Walker in the 6th Congressional District runoff.

“Mark Walker is a vital voice for North Carolina. He is a common-sense, Constitutional conservative who will champion pro-family issues as a citizen legislator and not a career politician,” said Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly. “Throughout his campaign, Mark has demonstrated his strong commitment to the people of North Carolina’s 6th district, not Washington and special interests. We need leaders like Mark in Washington to stand against the tyranny of the Obama Administration in an effort to return power to the people and the states.”

Schlafly continued “Now, more than ever, we need Congressional leaders who will not just call themselves conservative....We know Mark Walker will represent and fight for our values.”

Walker responded, “I’m grateful for the endorsement of Eagle Forum. Phyllis Schlafly has been a leader in the pro-family movement for decades and a solid voice for conservative values. Ms. Schlafly understands that in order for true conservative change to happen in Washington, we must send a Washington outsider who is willing to build the relationships necessary to get the job done.”

Eagle Forum endorses candidates who are committed to a conservative philosophy of limited government, national sovereignty, and traditional values. Eagle Forum joins a growing list of Walker endorsements including local conservative leaders such as Guilford County Commissioner Alan Branson, former 6th District candidates including Bruce Voncannon and Mike Causey, Sheriffs B.J. Barnes and Terry Johnson, broadcaster and former candidate Bill Flynn, and civil rights leader Clarence Henderson.

Mark Walker is a candidate for U.S. Congress in North Carolina’s Sixth District. He has a background in business and ministry, most recently as a member of the pastoral staff of one of the largest churches in Guilford County. Mark and his wife of 21 years, Kelly, have three children.
